Gaudi´s Barcelona .... my eye-opener to the "world of mosaic" ...

Back in 2002 I went for the first time to Barcelona ...
I had heard a lot about this beautiful city next to the blue Mediterranean Sea,
and with my interest for architecture I of course was very excited to see the buildings of Gaudi !!!
And it was a great experience ... both the pulse of the city and the amazing architecture by Gaudi !!!

Photo from the book: "Complete Works Gaudi" by Feierabend Verlag

 It really "touched me" ...
and I for the first time in my life got my eyes opened for the "world of mosaic" !!!
Back home again inspired from the curves and the mosaic´s of Gaudi´s work we started to do a renevation of our bathroom.
For my husband it was a big challenge to make this curved wall on which I wanted to make my first mosaic. I got a experience with mosaic .. it took much more time and was much harder work than I had thought !!!But a fantastic feeling to see the result after 14 days really hard, but very intense work ... a wonderful mix of being in the details with every little piece of tiles and at the same time bit for bit put the whole composition together !!!

The bathroom is ready for mosaic ... we build a curved wall to apart the bath and toilet section
and in front of this wall we build a small wall to put the washbasin.  The idea was to keep the colourful mosaic behind the little wall and decorate the rest of the walls with white tiles ....

I´m lucky to have family living in Barcelona, so I have been here a lot of times !!!
I get inspired by the life, amazing buildings and fantastic details everywhere around the city ...

Bagenkop .... a unique little pearl in the middle of great nature !!!

Bagenkop is a little village with a harbour on the southern tip of Langeland.
Surrounded by water here is a special light and a very bright sky.
The area around Bagenkop has, like the rest of Langeland, a very varied nature with hat shaped hills, cliffs along the sandy or very stony beaches that meets the rough sea !!!
Just outside Bagenkop is big area of varied fauna and moor with a rich bird life.
Bagenkop is the most important fishing town on Langeland and has a nice harbour for sailors.
It´s a special experience to walk around the harbour and watch  the fishingboats or the beautiful sailingboats come in. Listen to the seagulls screaming and smell the fresh smell of the sea.
Bagenkop and the surroundings are for me a full of energy which gives me power and peace inside .
I walk every day along the sea and enjoy the changing colours and patterns of the nature.

Mostly I bring my camera ... and when the "nature touch me" .... I just have to take som pictures !!!
